Peer review process
Peer Review Process
Review System:
Each manuscript submitted to Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación (REXE) for potential publication is reviewed under a double-blind peer review system, meaning that neither the reviewers nor the authors are informed of each other’s identities, in order to ensure that manuscripts are evaluated solely on their academic merit. The process involves sending the manuscript to two external reviewers who are experts in the relevant subject area.
Evaluation Outcomes:
Reviewers’ decisions may be one of the following:
-
Acceptance without revisions
-
Acceptance with minor revisions
-
Acceptance with major revisions
-
Rejection
If both reviewers recommend rejection, the manuscript will not proceed further in the journal’s editorial process. The decision will be communicated to the author by email, together with the corresponding review reports.
If one reviewer recommends rejection and the other recommends acceptance with major revisions, the manuscript will not continue in the journal’s editorial process.
If one reviewer recommends acceptance (with or without minor revisions) and the other recommends rejection, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer for an additional evaluation.
If the manuscript is accepted without revisions, with minor revisions, or with major revisions, the reviewers’ reports will be sent to the author so that the required changes can be made, maintaining the double-blind review system.
-
In the case of minor revisions, authors will have 15 working days to submit the revised manuscript.
-
In the case of major revisions, authors will have 30 working days to submit the revised version incorporating the requested changes.
When authors are required to revise their manuscript, the revised submission must be accompanied by a document explaining the changes made in response to the reviewers’ comments. This document must be titled “Revision Report.”
